24, 2003, Radnor, PA - The Science and Religion Bookstore,
launched in fall 2001, now carries nearly 900 critically-acclaimed
books from more than 230 publishers. Effective today, the online
bookstore offers a 20 percent discount on all titles purchased
through the site, www.scienceandreligionbooks.org.
Search features have also been enhanced; rapid links take searchers
to the latest news, features, and information in related sites.
The
Science and Religion Bookstore is both an online-only bookstore
and a research center for editors, scholars, researchers, librarians,
and general readers interested in the rapidly growing dialogue
between science and religion. Editorial reviews of new books are
posted regularly; bibliographies on a range of topics are highlighted;
and an events calendar is updated monthly, listing upcoming symposiums,

site, which opened six months ago, offers books from more than

Press, the online store is designed to be a full-service resource
for scholars, researchers, libraries, and general readers.

(click on Science and Religion Bookstore). In development for
the past year, the site has just opened, offering books from nearly
200 publishers and links to the latest news and information on
science and religion topics. Sponsored by Templeton Foundation
Press, the online bookstore is designed to be a full-service resource
for scholars, researchers, libraries, and general readers interested
in this growing area of study.

at a ten percent discount), conduct research, access bibliographies,

News, the monthly periodical that services the science and religion
community. It offers details on upcoming lectures, symposiums,
and conferences.
The
website is being promoted through advertising; press releases
to newspapers, magazines, journals, and web sites; and mailings
to targeted audiences. Ingram Book Company, one of the largest
book wholesalers in the U.S., will process orders for the Science
and Religion Bookstore and ship books to customers within 24 hours.

"Online access makes all kinds of information easier to find
and more useful."
The
Science and Religion Bookstore is an example of how Templeton
Foundation Press is using the World Wide Web to serve the science
and religion field. The Press is also in the process of converting
all of its backlist titles into e-books that will be available
at approximately 80 percent of the bound book price through the
Templeton Foundation Press web site and electronic bookstores.
Six titles are currently available in e-book format: The Power
of Prayer Around the World; Story of a Clam; Writing from the
Heart; God, Science and Humility; and The Cosmic Dance. Coming
shortly are God for the 21st Century; Many Worlds: The New Universe,
Extraterrestrial Life, and the Theological Implications; and Pure
Unlimited Love: An Eternal Creative Force and Blessings Taught
by All Religions. By January 2002, all Templeton Foundation Press
books-backlist and new titles-will be available in both e-book
and bound formats.
